A recently retired Chairman of a commission failed to get an extension in his tenure for which he was quite sure. Sources said that he was over confident about his extension and was reportedly lobbying in the PMO, not the concerned ministry. And this had irked the ministry and his proposal for extension was not forwarded and on the last day the ex- Chairman had to accept the reality.
